I wasn't originally going to write up this campaign. As a result my note taking was a bit slack until 3127.
The Celts started out in the Sol system in 3125 with a population of 7 billion and a medium sized colony emplaced upon Mars (known as Ogma to the Celts). The Celts have completed geo and grav surveys of the Sol system but have not explored any of the JPs yet.
1st Semivisonna 3125 – Proxima Centauri discovered. The system has one planet that may be a long term terraforming target. No decisions about which systems will be geo and grav surveyed until all six JPs in the Sol system have been explored.
2nd Semivisonna 3125 – Episilon Eridani system discovered by BB Div #1. BB Div #1 has been used as it has 1 of only 2 Jump Ships currently in operation. Episilon Eridani has 2 possible colony sites one of which may possibly be terraformed in the long term.
6th Semivisonna 3125 – Kapteyn’s Star discovered by BB Div #1. The system contains a possible colony site. The Kapteyn’s Star end of the jump link has a alien Jump Gate.
10th Semivisonna 3125 – Barnard’s Star discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn. The system contains a possible colony site.
15th Semivisonna 3125 – Sirius discovered by BB Div #1. One of the planets of the B component is a potential colony site.
1st Eqvos 3125 – Alpha Centauri system discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn. The system has 4 potential colony sites. Now that all 6 JPs have been explored, it is decided to exploit Alpha Centauri first.
12th Elembiv 3125 – JP discovered in the Alpha Centauri system.
21st Elembiv 3125 – Alpha Centauri turns out to be a mineral treasure trove. Plans are begun to emplace a remote mining colony on several of the planetary bodies in the system.
5th Aedrinios 3125 – Space Marshal Telyn Resius is killed in an accident.
7th Aedrinios 3125 – Lacialle 8760 system discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn. With the discovery of so many possible terraforming sites the Llwchwr class terraformer is designed and a shipyard commences retooling.
1st Dvmannios 3125 – A6 level administrator Gwenhwyvar Goff (Mining 25%) is made the administrator of one of the 2 civilian comet mining operations in the Sol system. This is a job for an A1 so who has she upset? A1 administrator Kenyon Yerward (Mining 30%) is made the administrator of the other one. Automated mining colonies established on 2 asteroids in the Sol system.
3rd Dvmannios 3125 – Alien ship detected in the Sirius system by the thermal sensors of 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn. The Sqn head back to Sol to contact fleet HQ.
7th Dvmannios 3125 – Fleet HQ attach the only Penyrheol Class Fleet Scout to BB Div #1 and despatch it to investigate.
11th Dvmannios 3125 – A second Alien ship is detected in the Sirius system.
17th Dvmannios 3125 – A third alien ship is detected by BB Div #1 and it moves to investigate and to attempt communication.
18th Dvmannios 3125 –Gliese 1061 discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn, the system contains a planet with a colonisation cost of only 0.79.
24th Dvmannios 3125 – Luyten 1305-10 system discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn. The system has no planets but does contain 3 unknown wrecks. Additionally, and more worryingly the system also contains a thermal strength 2800 contact that appears to be from the same race as the aliens discovered in the Sirius system. 1st (Grav) Sqn withdraws and sends the contact info to the 1st BB Div. 1st BB Div’s CO decides that rather than chasing fleeting contacts across Sirius he will move to Luyten 1305-10 JP and attempt to make contact with the larger alien ship.
27th Dvmannios 3125 – After receiving BB Div #1’s intentions, Fleet HQ despatch Cruiser Sqn #2 to Siruius guard the Sol JP. Realising that BB Div #1 lacked decent missile defences, DD Sqn #1 is sent to provide support.
1st Rivros 3125 – BB Div #1 detects another ship sitting on top of the Luyten 1305-10 JP. When they enter the Luyten 3125-10 system, BB Div #1 detects a second thermal strength 2800 target.
15th Rivros 3125 – 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn discovers the YZ Canis MInoris system. The system would be an uninteresting M-Class star with no habitable planets except that it has a completely unknown phenomena – a stable wormhole. The Scout Wanoeur is detached from the sqn and sent to investigate.
16th Rivros 3125 –BB Div #1 discovers the Gliese 67 system. BB Div #1 then sets off to explore the second JP observed through the transit of an alien ship. The second system is identified as Gliese 109. The third planet has a truly enormous thermal signature and it appears that BB Div #1 has discovered the home world of the aliens first observed in the Sirius system. The scout Penyrheol is detached to take a closer look but with strict orders not to antagonise the aliens.
17th Rivros 3125 – A major breakthrough is made in communication attempts with the aliens.
27th Rivros 3125 – After an audacious flight to the alien’s home planet Penyrheol rejoins BB Div #1 and, deciding not to push their luck any further, they shape their course for home. High ranking civilian administrator Winnifred Aubrey(Mining 20%) is sent to oversee an asteroid mining operation in the Sol system that consists of 5 automated mines.
6th Anagantios 3125 – BB Div #1 return home to a hero’s welcome. The CO’s of BB Div #1 (Deputy Space Marshal Wynn Ithel*) and Penyrheol (Space Commodore Anghirst Bateman*) are awarded the Distinguished Service Cross.
* - These are replacement names, the reason for which will become apparent in the post for 3126.
12th Anagantios 3125 – Following months of communications attempts enough progress has been made to allow some construction communication. The aliens identify themselves as the Arkangelsk Confederation. The aliens soon become known as the ArkCons. The aliens appear to an aquatic race that looks like a cross between a squid and a fish.
20th Anagantios 3125 – Gravitational survey of the Barnard’s Star system completed. One additional JP has been discovered.
26th Anagantios 3125 – Ross 154 system discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn. The system contains a habitable planet that requires no terraforming. It is a little on the chilly side with a surface temperature of -11.5C. After a quick survey the planet appears completely uninhabited.
15th Ogronnos 3125 – Survey of the Ross 154 completed. The system has an additional 4 JPs.
19th Ogronnos 3125 – Gliese 563.2 system discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn. The system is an unremarkable binary system consisting of 2 M-Class stars.
22nd Ogronnos 3125 – Gliese 674 system discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn.
24th Ogronnos 3125 – Wolf 1061 system discovered by 1st (Grav) Survey Sqn.
