If I turn the CMS off, it will look very similar to this board. The idea of the CMS is content. I added a simple news article to the front. The page is expandable via blocks.

Is it the stuff along the right side?

If so, then I don't see a need.

I added a CMS mod to another phpBB and was wondering if that would be needed/wanted here. You can take a look at it at http://playtest.pentarch.org/index.php

It still is phpBB at the core, the CMS is just an overlay. This would allow us to put news info up-front, rather than needing to dig into a forum. The forums themselves will not leave, they'd just be a layer deeper.
