Then someone needs to put a bug report in as the ship class display still shows a fuel requirement for shields.

It doesn't appear in the class summary but it does in the component summary. Removed for v1.13.

Are you sure... it does not show that in my C# game... as far as I know it still take fuel if you play VB6 though.

Shields used to burn fuel while powered on but Steve removed that because it really did not add much to the game so the shield generator now suppose that any power necessary is part of the shield component.

Steve don't want us to have to deal with power for different part of the ship because that would shift focus from fleets of ships to needing to micro manage individual ships power grid by switching power between components depending on circumstance.

I'd personally kindof prefer if they did but they are in fact completely self sufficient modules.

Hi everyone!

This is probably a silly question but do shields require reactor power to recharge or do they have their recharge power built in? I just don't want to build my star-destroyer with a reactor sized to power all weapons and then realize the shields require power as well.

I tried to find a post in The Academy concerning this but was unable to find one, so if this has already been answered could you give me the link to the topic and just delete this one?

Thanks in advance!
