Well, if it was a special encounter, I would feel marginally better. Still got stomped flat, but that would make me feel less noobish.  :D

The battleship moving at plaid speed, I have not figured out how to handle.  8)

Are you sure they are NPR's? There is a couple other threats out there, and that description sounds like one of them. :)

I am really enjoying 5.0/5.1 but man, is it just me or is everyone else noticing NPR's with ships loaded out with superchargers, NoX and wheelie bars?

In three games so far, I have run into NPR's packing serious speed. The worst was a 28,500 ton ship moving at 12,000kps who sailed through my missile barrage, got within 600k km and blew my fleet into sausage with beam weapon fire. One ship.

So far, even with Magneto Plasma Drive tech (yeah, im still low tech, all three games) I get outrun by just about everyone else in space. So far, I have been surviving by liberal use of big MIRV missiles with a payload of size 1 and size 2 super fast sprint missiles.

Have I just been rather unlucky, or is this the usual so far?  :D
