The main impact of star type is its mass rather than luminosity. Star mass affects almost everything in system generation, most noticeably the orbital radius of planets, the number and distance of jump points and the distance and survey requirements of survey locations.

would be nice if it was a factor in how much of the agricultural sector was needed. More sunlight = better growth of plants - which improves livestock.  Though at the moment I think only the star type helps indicate how likely a system will have JP's and the likely hood of minerals on bodies present. I can't find the post referencing this after using a basic search but i'm sure i've heard it somewhere on the forums.

Hey guys,

In my current game I just found a star with 80 luminosity, whereas most i find are around . 02, . 00008, and so on.  Just wondering if there's any techs in the game (or planned?) that would take advantage of super high energy stars.

If not, a few suggestions:

Research facilities, and energy production!
