When they survey a body in a system that you already know about, you get the survey results.  You dont get results for systems that they surveyed before the treaty or for systems that you havent discovered.

If you subsequently find a system that they have already fully surveyed, you dont get those results until you survey the bodies yourself.

I'm not sure what info the NPR actually gets (never really checked that) but have always assumed that its a mirror image (ie the sharing routine only triggers when a geosurvey is completed on a body)

I found Steve's original post on diplomacy changes and treaties, but wasn't able to find the information I'm looking for.

One of my NPRs granted me a geosurvey sharing treaty.  How does that work?  Am I supposed to see their galactic map now, with all the systems/planets they've surveyed?  If I reciprocate, does the NPR see my entire map?  Or when I jump into a system they have surveyed, do I see that their planets have been surveyed?
