I wouldn't count the game as being over yet, odd things happen to conquered populations, they may grow to love their masters, odder still when you have 2 countries right next to each other being ruled by the opposite faction. Once they both impose cheap forced labour on each other and learn to accept their differences they'll discover who the real enemy is, the Jovians who sat back and let Earth get destroyed by atomic fire, they're the one responsible, and the glorious Peoples Sino-Russo Republic will have it's vengeance!

Personally I see this happening india and the south american alliance seem to be very quite how ever what are they getting up to in the grand scheme of things I wonder.

Well, with the new mechanic were certain conscientious parties to Transfer an asteroid somebody had negligently stocked with Size 5 missiles, that might be set to rights.  Depends what the Jovians think about a trashed Earth vs.  an damaged Earth with a superpower.  And there certainly seems to be a lot of aliens.
I am sure a trashed Earth would be in the Jovians interest. They wait a little while and they have only a couple people to beat to control Earth again.

Less than a year :)  It's been quite eventful.

Still finding bugs so a little while yet. I've done quite a lot with the AI, even beyond what is in the change log, so I am also watching out for any weird behaviour.

So Steve,  where in Aurora's code is the section for screwing over the Chinese?  can I avoid it by calling them the Peoples Sino Republic? or will it pick up on the Chinese theme?

I think that the Kremlinology for this is that the Chinese seized on the pretext of responding to a border violation in the name of Humanity to "accidentally" eliminate their in-system rivals' ability to construct jump gates at the critical first moments for humanities interstellar era.

Can't fool the Russians!

Five minutes after the first shot was fired, one of the resilient Chinese laser-armed bases exploded. The other two followed within a few brief minutes. The Russian destroyer closed to point blank range, inflicting strength-10 hits, and blasted the remaining two missile-armed bases into scrap metal. With the orbital defences eliminated, the Russian destroyers opened fire on the huge Chinese shipyard complex, which was more than a million tons. While the bulk of the Chinese fleet watched from more than a billion kilometres away, the Russian warships completely obliterated their orbital industry. A stray salvo of Chinese missiles had proved to be very expensive indeed.

I used to think Steve hated China, but this campaign would seem to indicate it's actually Aurora that hates China and Steve is only an intermediary.

That would be interesting to see. Also funny that China could become populated by Russians while Russia is populated by Chinese.

What would be even funnier is if this happens just in time for a fleet from the Skye Enclave to arrive and bombard the moon in retaliation for China's attack on their construction ship.

Can the Chinese force a Russian surrender if they successfully bombard the Russian capital?

I think only that population would surrender and the occupied pop on Earth would still be Russian. Not entirely sure though :)

Intense. :)

I love that the NPRs will reload with captured missiles when no other option exists!

That's a v6.4 addition :)
