Can it be that Maintenance Cost of Ground Forces is only calculated and subtracted when the troops are outside a PDC?

Thanks Steve. Last thing I am missing is the Maintenance Cost of the Ground Forces. Can you shed light on how they are calculated?

Annual maintenance is equal to 10% of original build cost.

If the economic production modifier (EPM) is less than 100%, maintenance cost is multiplied by that percentage (lowering the cost). However, unit readiness begins to fall due to the lack of full maintenance. The fall is 1 - EPM each construction cycle. Readiness will steadily increase once EPM is back to 100%.

The research points produced by a single lab are calculated as: Race Research Rate * Economic Production Modifier * Manufacturing Efficiency * Radiation Production Modifier * Political Stability * Political Status Production Modifier * Scientist Research Bonus

When calculating wealth the same calculation is used with the exception of the Scientist Research Bonus. In other words, two scientists with different research bonuses will cost the same in wealth points but will generate different amounts of research points.
That's a relief!
Knowing this much will help my optimize production vs research in determining which is more efficient for building up research potential over time.

Oooh, so researching faster research labs techs actually eat wealth faster? That's good to know, actually!
And, so does using higher efficiency research specialists, too.

1 RP costs 1 wealth to produce. 1 BP costs 1 wealth to produce. Not sure how the ground unit maintenance works, though.

Hi,

I was trying to find out how Aurora calculates the wealth cost of a running research lab; or all the other installations running in the background like the Ground Unit Maintenance Costs, etc. These informations don't seem to be either in the wiki or here in the forum. Or I cannot find them. Does anyone know?

Thanx :-)
