Post by: Chris Foster on April 14, 2020, 09:43:15 PM
The only way i can find to turn on active sensors is through fleet movement orders.  Is there another way like in VB Aurora?

Many thanks yall.

On the Fleet overview, expand the fleet that the ship is in and click on the ship itself. At the bottom "Active on" should become visible. If it says "Active off" it means the active sensor is already on on that ship.

On tactical map left side menu - Display - Active Sensors checkbox.

This tab only appears when they are warships. But for commercial ships? Apart from the transponder, I do not see a tab "Activate on", having of course only the Thermal and EM sensors, one of each.
Where are they, only passive? For commercial vessels?

Commercial vessels cannot have active sensors.

Passive sensors are always on.

commercial ships can have active/EM/Thermal sensors no larger than 1 HS.

Yes, otherwise they are considered military.
Thank you.

Okay, so a very light design.
Thank you.

Is there a way to turn on the active sensor for the whole fleet?

The only way I've found to do that is through movement orders. You can create a nearby waypoint and tell the fleet to turn on their sensors once they arrive there.

Is there a way to turn on the active sensor for the whole fleet?

In Naval Organization window, select the ship.
Click on the Ship Combat tab.
On the right are a lot of buttons.
"Active On/Off" is right near the top of those.

But that only activates the sensor of the selected ship not of the whole fleet of lets say 10 ships.

Which was covered in the original post -- "through fleet movement orders."
