Title: New Ranks
Post by: Chris Foster on April 15, 2020, 02:41:20 AM
Is there a way to manage the rank structure? I can add ranks but they appear at the top of the rank structure with no way to change where they are in the order and no way to promote people to the rank. Cheers

You can rename military ranks to match your structure.   For manual promotions, you need to deaktivate 'Realistic Commander Promotions' in the 'Game Information' window (gear icon).

Don’t have the game in front of me atm, so if I recall correctly, the new rank is inserted above the actually selected rank.

Sadly no, new ranks are added on top.

I just worked out the rank structures I wanted, added "Place holder 1" to get the right number  etc then renamed them all

Yeah, this is how VB Aurora did it, so hopefully in a month or two we can get this functionality back.

The solution I see is to "rename" all the ranks below that one. For example, I want to add a Captain Rank for my Ground Batalions (US Ranks).

So I create a new Rank named "General of the Army" and it will be placed on top and will be the same of the direct below rank. The second rank is renamed from General of the Army to General. The next from General to Lieutenant General and so on...

When you arrive to the last rank, you will name Major to the new one you want, in my case.. captain.
