As mentioned in the "known issues" thread "Date formats. Some users see the day of the week in displayed dates, which means there is not enough room. This can be fixed in by changing Windows date to shorter format in settings. "
Well the same issue for me. However, I am unable to find the settings to change it. Where can I change such settings?
Thank you!

Assuming you are running windows 10:
Right click on the time, in the task tray.
https://prnt.sc/ucs9ni
Left click on Adjust Date/Time
https://prnt.sc/ucsa18
Now that we have the Date & Time control panel open, there is a related setting we want to use, Date, Time, & regional formatting. Left click on that.

With the region panel open, we want to change a data format

Long date is the one to change. It has 4 possibilities, two have the day before the month, two are after, and for each pair one shows the day and the other does not.

Another way to the same thing:
Open search
https://prnt.sc/ucsd78
Type in Settings, like this:
https://prnt.sc/ucuiwo
Select the settings app, which gets us here:
https://prnt.sc/ucse14
In the search bar, type in date:
https://prnt.sc/ucse9p
Select Change date and time formats
Long date is the one to change. It has 4 possibilities, two have the day before the month, two are after, and for each pair one shows the day and the other does not.

edit: noticed I'd used the same link twice, replaced the repeat with the correct one.
