Title: Database File Type
Post by: kingflute on January 04, 2021, 03:22:35 AM
My database files have, for some reason, been converted into the ANSYS. db file type.  Is this going to have an impact on being able to play Aurora, and what file type should they be?

The database is SQLite and the C# DB calls use the SQLite libraries.

Has anything actually changed with your file, or is that just the description that shows in the file explorer next to the file? Cause those are generic and set by whatever the programs you install want to set them to. Since these descriptions apply to all files of a given extension, they're often inaccurate.

Aurora still seems to run OK, so it may well be that its just the description in file explorer.  Thanks.

They haven't actually been converted. You just at some point installed ANSYS and the .db file extension got registered as belonging to ANSYS database files.

Remember: file extensions are hints as to what format the file is in. They don't actually "do" anything.
