I might have missed this in larger battles logs, this was a very small skirmish though so was easier to spot.

Did those barbarians have cameras? What about floral shirts? Were they spending most of their time standing round looking at pocket maps? Did they make a conscious effort to use local slang? Did they spend lots of money in gift shops? I think they might have been tourists, not barbarians. An easy mistake to make.
