I am making a program that goes with aurora 4x which advises you on ship designs based on your preferred ship size, cost, materials, crew size, IFR, AFR, HTK, etc. I was wondering if people could post their favourite ship designs to help me decide on default ship designs.

It is for people that use big ship. I use it as an escort for point defence but it is also good for point defence suppression at close range. The 100 tons of ground troop can be useful in some situation but it is 90% for role play. Note that some range of missile and fire control are not matching and can be improve. It is due to rapid wars time refit made with what was available. I am about to do a new refit when the wars will allow me to pull some ship out of the front line.

Thank you very much for your reply. I just want to urge more people to respond as well, as the more ship designs are submitted the better my program will be, and I think it could be a useful tool to make it easier and quicker for players to build ships without having to go through each component meticulously to build a ship, before repeating the process every time they research a new component.

There is my largest ships in my current game (for now). I do not really use missiles in this game and I roleplay quite a bit, so I am not sure how usefull will this design be to you.

The last set of ships I posted are for a missile fighter carrier doctrine with a set of escorts. They have some RP stuff going on that makes them a little weird (excessive amounts of fuel, limited redundancy in fire controls and sensors), but are otherwise pretty solid low tech vessels.

Design decisions to note: everyone gets size 1 passives of both types cause there's just no reason not to have that capacity. Warships get enough MSP to fully rebuild their engines via damage control (so twice the cost) because getting stranded sucks, but I don't invest heavily in damage control rating since getting components repaired takes so much longer than a typical combat encounter. Basically, if it can't be repaired over the course of a handful of minutes, it won't matter if it takes 1 hour or 12 because the outcome will be decided before then.

The thread they are from also had a bunch of doctrinal discussions and I learned a TON from it; might be worth checking it out.
