As y'all may have noticed, the board is now running phpbb3. This gives us the advantage of a number of things, primarily sub-forums. If any author would like their fiction forum locked to read-only, and a discussion forum under that let me know.
Also, please check your user profile to make sure everything transferred over correctly.
As always, if there are any issues, let me know.

Thanks for your tireless work on running this board, Erik. The new format looks great.
I notice the links to pictures don't work and I assume links to any word docs will be the same. Will that correct itself or do I need to upload the pictures to a new location and change the links?

You are talking the embedded files?
In phpbb2, those were handled by a 3rd party mod. In phpbb3, those are a native function. I'll look into it.
The urls to some of the files are probably broken too. (At least until the DNS is done).

Just as a note from a "lurker," it appears that the links to all of the downloads (aurora files and patches, for example) are still broken.

I thought I'd tested those. I'll double check them.

I just double-checked them. They all worked for me. Please let me know which specific ones (if any) are still not working.
-
I just checked and they don't work for me either. All the Gallery posts just have the word 'image' where the picture should be.

I just checked the post in the HIgher Orbits thread where I posted an attachment and the image is missing. Instead there is a whote box with the text below

Regarding the mising images... They are not on the backup of the domain I made prior to the move, nor can I find them on the new site. Best bet, would be to edit the post and reattach the image (if you still have it).

If I want to upload the images, especially those in the middle of a message, is it best to ftp them? If so, what address and login details should I use?

phpBB3 has an attachment feature built in. It will upload the files to the server automatically.

I have uploaded an image and used the Inline function to place it within the text. Is there any way to get the full image to display rather than a small section that scrolls?

Options are "Inline Y/N" and "Thumbnail Y/N".
Inline yes is the current setting, and I did not see anything on how to make it bigger. No would provide a link.
Thumbnail is set to No currently, but if yes, would generate a thumbnail.
I'll turn the thumbnail on and see how that looks and how it reacts.

In phpBB2 you could upload an image and it would display in full in the text. Is there anyway to replicate that in phpBB3?

I see the thumbnail mode now - that is better than the scrollbar option.

In phpBB2 that was not a native ability. That was a mod that I added. Thumbnails are enabled, but they are not being rendered as thumbnails.

I added a couple of images and they displayed as smaller versions that you could left-click to enlarge. They looked OK. Now that ability seems to have vanished again and I am back to the scrolling full size image. Is that something I did or have you disabled thumbnails now?

I think that thumbnail is better than the previous option. Large images no longer mess with the width of the discussion.
