Title: Survey mechanics
Post by: dammrebel on December 19, 2008, 12:18:32 PM
Ok geo surveys, no problem. I have figured those out without much problem. How do I accomplish grav surveys for JPs though. Assuming I have a survey ship with grav sensors once in system how do I assign the survey TG to go look for them. In the TG order window I cant' find any order or task either from direct input or standing order to accomplish this.

Thanks,
Jeff

I set a conditional order to "Survey next three system locations"

For manual, you need to check the box "Survey Locations" and (optionally) "Exclude Surveyed" (to prevent duplication of effort).

Also note that survey locations are not switched on by default so you may not be able to see them. You can find the toggle on the Options section of the Display tab on the System Map window.

Though you don't need to do that for the orders :)

I don't think I've ever looked at the survey locations on the system map.

I often use them as default waypoints, especially for going Hyper when setting up surveys for distant companions

I think most of us use these conditional orders. Its way faster then deliberately picking each one.
