Title: new guys question
Post by: alexwildstar on July 08, 2009, 04:46:15 PM
Well I installed the game and got it set up and running but have a few problems.

I am just learning so been screwing around with just the basics.     But the one thing I have not been albe to do is make any progress researching anything.   I put things in my research q and run twenty to forty turns and nothing seems to happen.   I did notice there is a que section barried at the bottom of the reasearch page but it did I could not figure out how to put anything into it.    I am putting things in the que section on the right hand side of the page.

Also what is the space master code for some things it seems I might need that.

Also thanks Steve for putting in the option a no jump gate option.

1) Hit this button to start the selected research project (in the list above, not in the queue)

2) The project, you are currently researching

3) The estimated date, the research will be finished

4) The amount of research(points) needed for the project

5) The amount of research(points) still needed to finish the project

Research generally takes a long time, sometimes years of game-time
Once the project you are currently researching is finished, the top one in the queue will be researched. If there is no project to be researched, you will be getting a message about research labs not working

Hope this helps

The SM password is set by you when you create a new game.  If you left that line blank then no password is set and hitting enter when prompted for a password will get you into SM mode.

Also in the picture, the "research points per annum" shows how many points you generate per year. So if the project is 120,000 RP, and you generate 4,000 RP/year, it will take a while.

You need to be in SM Mode if I recall, then just click the Instant button. RP will be deducted from the pool. Just a warning, there is nothing to prevent you from "overspending", so be warned :)
