Hm, are those lasers from some ruin? If not, your engine tech is seriously lacking
As with your DE, I´d like some armor (I´d hate to have to serve on one of those tin-cans in a "Defend the jumppoint" scenario) on this.

Ive found a strange 30cm advanced laser yep:):a damned lucky Enginners guys.
My Drive r old but secure technology:)
Hope am reach next century (2200) and am found a newly Drive-Tech...(ive little history advance line prepared)
Ive a vast amolunt of money,commanders and ORE now in my Federations. 5 SDB Squadroon 10-Ships each r patrolling Earth right now..40's ships with 4 jump to patrol.Easy with 300mm X-Ray:)

What's your design philosophy regarding passive defences? The designs you've posted recently have no shields and limited armour and I'm curious whether this is a role-playing thing or a tactical decision.

Our proud Politics r blinded same as ACTUAL,on behavior to Space (if never occours) treat.
So on Earth no one have fear from Aliens.Primarily because on one Century NO single Aliens was spotted in 100 Solar Systems..
R another subdue doctrine: safe money.So our ships r puny on Armor and Shields(lately discovered).

OK fair enouugh. Have you encountered many systems in nebulae? It's just that, as I'm sure you know, your designs will be slowed tro a crawl in these systems.

About 100% in a real stars game
There are no nebulas in a real stars game (at least yet) because there are no nebulas anywhere close to Sol. I think the nearest is well over 1000 light years.
