Sorry if this has been answered already. I tried to search on shipyard but it came back as too common a word for any results.
Is it possible to convert a commercial shipyard to naval or vice versa? Thanks.

No, you can't convert one to the other.

Thanks. And just to clarify, you can build commercial ships at a naval shipyard but not the other way around, correct?

Yes, that's correct. Any military system on a ship prevents it being built in a commercial shipyard.

Hi all,
I have a follow up question regarding Shipyards.
What is the use of building Commercial Shipyards? They are as expensive as Militairy Shipyards and are limited by building only Commercial ships.
Am I missing something here?

Commercial shipyards start out at 10,000 tons capacity rather than the 1,000 tons of naval shipyards. They can also be increased to a significant capacity far quicker than naval yards. As commercial ships tend to be of significant size, you can start building them far quicker at a commercial yard rather than wait for the time it takes to expand a naval yard to the required size.

Thnx for the quick reply Metalax.
So I did miss something. Guess I start constructing a Civil Shipyard right away.
