Title: Galaxy Map
Post by: x2yzh9 on January 11, 2010, 10:20:20 PM
All the other star systems except sol are ALL piled ontop of oneanother, do i need to modify the galmap settings so it's accurate?

Are you zoomed out a lot?

maybe the other systems weren't close to sol but very close to each other

There is no fixed map layout. You arrange the map layout yourself and can move systems around during the game to make your galactic map more readable. Click on the Help button at the top of the window and the sidebar text will explain how to drag systems around and arrange them as you want them.

You have to lay out the systems on the Galactic Map manually.

use "Sys Pos" button to bring up the system positions menu

Select a system by  Shift+Left Click & hold and drag it to your preferred position, repeat for all systems.

Once you have a layout you kind of like, you can ,  the "Line Up" button aligns the systems to the underlying grid, but the MOST IMPORTANT button is the "Save Positions" button that saves the current positions on the screen - if you DONT use this then the next time you open the Galactic Map the systems will revert to the way they were before.  If for some reason you dont like the modifications that you've made  you can also use the Restore button to revert to the last Saved position.
