Well I had a geo team survey a planet without first having ships do it, they found minerals but those minerals wouldn't show up on the mining screen, once I sent a survey ship and surveyed it they then popped up, but it's wierd

The geological survey team shouldn't be able to carry out a follow-up survey until the orbital survey is complete. I'll make that more explicit in v4.81
