Nothing too flashy here - these are just the first craft (designed in 2025) of the Terran Union, built by real-world contractors and operated by the United Nations Aerospace Agency - the defense arm of the eminent world government of earth.
All of the following were designed by a consortium of the following contractors: BAE Systems, EADS, Finmeccania, General Dynamics, L-3 Communications, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Northrop Grumman, NPO Molniya, SAIC, Siemens AG, Raytheon, and the Thales Group.
First, a dedicated long-range cargo hauler, envisioned to carry materiel to other worlds and return with useful minerals:

Nice, closely matches my survey method, though I use a mothership carrying both grav and geo parasites, and leave my mothership at the entrance jump point, to act as a refueling depot for my survey craft.
Your Enterprise class is very slow though, and carrying a huge amount of fuel and maint, maybe a trade off will help, because at 742km/s its going to take a loooong time to move across systems from Jump Gate to Jump Gate, I try to keep my survey motherships up around 1500-2500 km/s

I probably should make another parasite for grav survey - good idea.
It is slow - but I'm using it as a fueler and maintainer for it's parasites, and 5000 tons is the maximum at the moment.
I like giving myself design goals such as: not exceeding a certain tonnage or having a minimum number of engines.
The next science vessel will have the next generation of technology, it looks like, so many of those problems will be alleviated.

Thats what I do as well, I hace a tender, that acts holds fuel and maint for the parasites, however, you have a very low failure rate on your parasite so you wont need a lot of maint. amd at that speed you might hit another tech level or 2 by the time it gets anywhere
I generally hit one of my yards with an add 10000 capacity straight off, so I can make a nice comfy sized mothership by the time i've finished surveying the home system. I'm impressed with how much you managed to cram into 5000 tons!

Seems like a really -low- amount of fuel to me =P
It only has 90 billion km range!
I like to have my survey vessels to have at least 5 times that. But then my survey ships tend to be giant ships with enough stuff to survey 4-10 systems before having to return all by their lonesome.
Granted he just started the game....I usually strap 500km/s-1000km/s worth of engines 3 fuel tanks and 1 grav sensor and a few engineering ports to start. Ditto for geo except they have no engineering.
I also notice my geo survey ships run out of fuel long before my grav survey ships do. I think I'll go increase their fuel tanks.

Nice start. Only real suggestion I've got is to add 1 more engineering section to the Aspire. If the Geo sensor goes down you'll have to bring it back to the yards for repair.

Months and testing lead on a "specialized" Ships.
Am use a Single Scout Carriers,with onboard 5 parassites-800tons each: 2 Geo 2 Grav and 1 little tanker 800tons.
Plus 2 JumpTanker for refuel Carrier.
And,my Carriers have 20000 spare parts and r setting on "Suppply Ships"..
so my little Scout Squadroon have supply and tankers.
Carriers got maintenance 800-tons hangar so my parassite NOT need overhaul return on Colony BUT use the Carriers spare parts.

In response to initial mission and trial reports in 2027, UNAsA ordered the evaluation of improved scientific platforms, resulting in the following re-designs.

The current Enterprise is already scheduled to be refit to take advantage of the new, more efficient design.
The Aspire class performed admirably in 2026 and early 2027, completing all of it's mission parameters among the inner planets and Jupiter.
However, although fears of equipment failure were never realized, a slight change in design direction was made in late 2026, resulting in the Aim class:

With the removal of gravitational survey equipment from the Enterprise when it went under refit to the Endeavor, a replacement was needed.
The Hope class fulfills the requirement for gravitational anomaly exploration, with greater range at it's disposal:

hmm I'd missed the Maint that Charlie raised, good thing I'm restarting for 4.9, need to revamp my own survey boats!
