Title: Sorium requirements
Post by: Decimator on March 25, 2010, 10:35:40 AM
How much sorium does a refinery consume per year?  And, if it's different, how much sorium does a sorium harvesting module consume per year?

I don't know, 1 ton per 10,000 litres?  1 ton per 1,000 litres?

Tell you what, pop open Aurora, activate SM mode (Ctrl-S), open the (F9) 'System Information' window, use the 'Add Colony' button to put a new one on some barren planet, open the (F2) 'Population & Production' window, select the new colony, use the 'SM Mods' button to give it exactly one fuel refinery (and no other installations), make sure Fuel production is set to 'Start' and not 'Stop', re-select the empire and colony to refresh the screen, and look at the 'Mining & Minerals' tab to see how much Sorium is listed in the 'Projected Use' column and divide by 'Annual Fuel Production' listed on the 'Industry' tab.  Then come back here and tell us.

Oh, and Harvesters are the same efficiency as Refineries, assuming Leader bonuses are equal.

The conversion rate appears to be 2,000 litres per sorium.  This rate appears to be constant no matter what refining tech you have.  Information added to the wiki so other people don't have to spend hours to get this information:  http://aurorawiki.pentarch.org/index.php?title=Installations

Yes, it is 2000 and that is constant.
