Title: Espionage - Diplomacy Interaction

In my current game I have got to the stage where I have 2 races that aren't shooting at me and I have even established trade relations with one of them.  Does the creation of a colony on their home world(s) (as a placeholder) and the use of espionage teams reduce the diplomatic rating?

I have been away from the laptop and Aurora and was trying to get an answer before I got the chance to run it back up.  I have run the game for a while and watching the aliens in Designer Mode their DR towards me is still rising.  Looks like there is no effect at present.  I will know more when I get some espionage reports from my team.
