Title: Miltiple Colonies on the Same Planet

First, thanks for a great game.

Now for my question,

 I started a multi nation game on Earth. As part of my own scenario i wanted the countries of Earth to become one. I was looking for ways to do that in game (nonmilitary) and couldn't find any in the Diplomacy section. So i used the the transfer option and transferred all the populations to one group. Yet when I'm in the economics window it still shows 5 different 'colonies' on Earth. I would prefer them merged into one since they are on the same planet and the same race yet I don't see how to do that. I could use the abandon button to get rid of them but i don't want to lose them...pop, industry, etc...just want them made into one.

Is there any options that I'm missing to accomplish this, or is the only way to SM it and then delete the old?

At the moment the only way to do it is using SM Mode and delete the old ones. Some form of population amalgamation is on the list but I just haven't got around to it yet.
