Title: Boarding actions and GU strength
Post by: chuckles73 on April 15, 2011, 09:31:12 PM
During a boarding action, if the ship that's being boarded doesn't have troops on board, the crew fights off the boarders.

They get 1 point of strength per 100 crew. Does that 1 point go up with Ground Unit Strength research? (I hope not, but I didn't see anything about it when I searched.

Not sure what you mean by Ground Unit Strength research - as I understand it... they get 1 point per 100 crew in combat value - A Marine Company has a base attack of 2 - if you have researched Ground Unit Strength 16 that will be up to 3 etc
For a decent sized ship - even one damaged - you will need a few Marines....

My recollection is that the answer is "no", but it could easily be "yes".  I'm actually happy not to know - it adds some uncertainty to life :)
