Title: getting rid of troublesome ships
Post by: LoSboccacc on June 13, 2011, 04:15:29 AM
I've a invader ship fighting some precursor ship,

none of them seems to be able to destroy the other, they go around entering and exiting firing range in some sector forcing one day increment for potential interception and much shorter increment when they close up.

no combat is shown in the report, so they're just engaging, not shooting nor getting damaged

this has gone on off for a year now. the last time I put 90x 1 day autoturns twice to resume normal game, but it's becoming quite boring.

I've heard in the bug forum that maybe some fire control are generated as active sensors, and fixing them in the ship design fixes the problem

or that I can just delete the ships and be done with it.

how one does that? I like to try fixing designs first.

You'll need access to Designer mode to do these actions.  A few board members have the password; however, only Steve will give it out.  Steve is pretty relutant to do that as it is pretty easy to cause major issues in Designer Mode.  If you already have the password then it is the same action as deleting one of your own ships; otherwise, PM Steve or see if someone will take your DB and remove the offending ships for you.
