Title: Galactic map layouts?

I've struggled with this a bit, so I've got to ask. How do you guys set out your galactic map so that it suits you? I've had issues, as the measurements relative to one another aren't perfect... In my quest for perfection, I even took a compass to it and attempted loci to determine what fits where, although none of the jump nodes seem to line up correctly. Since my home system in this game has 7 points in system, the galactic map is a bit weblike, and I'd like to be able to organise it.

Mine usually changes repeatedly through the game as new lines open up and the map condenses. I try to centrally locate the big multi jump point systems and radiate from them.

I attached a screenshot of my current game, cant seem to get the image to show in the post.

Go to the Gallery section - there are lots of screen shots of galactic maps in there
