I have PDC components on earth and an empty freighter TG with 30 holds orbiting earth so there should be a load pdc component order in the task group actions available at earth list for that freighter tg right? can anything pre-empt my freighters and grab those parts? There is a colony that wants some additional protection if that matters.

Yes. I've had no problem shipping PDC components around. I haven't upgraded to v5.60, though.

I don't know why you can't load them, but I'm using 5. 60 and my 1st Logistics Squadron does have that order available.

That's really odd. Have you tried turning off Orders Filtering?

I think I once had the same problem. It looks like your 30-hold TG is a collection of 10x 3-hold freighters.
For some reason, there must be at least 5 holds on an individual freighter before it can load a PDC component. Since I'd guess none of the task group ships have 5+ holds, the Load PDC component option is getting filtered out.

Sublight is correct, you need a 5-hold ship for PDC. Using only 5-hold ships is usually a good thing in any case, as it's the standard for facilities.

The single greatest reason I have found to only use cargo ships with five cargo holds is the fact that this game occasionally has hiccups with non-integer numbers, and rounding error will end up costing you 0. 001 facilities, or something equally irritating. Integer multiples of five cargo holds allows one to neatly circumvent the entire problem, although it does make designing cheap tramp freighters more difficult.

Is there any way to scrap PDC parts? I deleted the design before building some pdcs, now I've got some unknown class pdc parts on hand.

Make a colony on a useless asteroid. Dump the parts there. Delete the colony.
