Title: Flags not showing on Galactic Map

I have a folder called "Flags" in the main Aurora folder which contains all the flag jpg files. I also have the "show race control" flag box ticked in the Galactic display menu. However I have yet to see any
flag icons on the Galactic Map. Can anyone advise why the race flags are not showing?

You have to set the controling race yourself

In the Galactic Map, Main Tab, there are several drop-down menues. The first reads "Control Empire" There you can assign a race to the selected system

Your own flag doesn't show on the Galactic map. Any system without a flag is either yours or unclaimed.

Would it be possible to change this so that it does show our flag? It would make it easier to see the edges where our claimed space borders unclaimed/contested systems.

In Display -> Other, you can turn on Show Race Control Flag / Colour. Turn color on, then manually unclaim every system you don't actually want.

I know that Old Controlling Race or whatever it's called in the galactic map isn't saved when the window is closed.

I wonder if now is possible to show empire flags on Galactic Map, I still don't find an option to do it. Any help? Maybe you need to find first confirmed population of alien species?

On the map window, select a system and choose Control Race.

Thank you so much for the clear answer. Still, if I try to do it as you suggested, but still: I don't see flags. I'm doing something wrong, maybe the system has to be claimed somehow?
