Title: My database is broken, any way to restore/fix?
Post by: telegraph on February 22, 2013, 06:00:08 AM
I was playing Aurora, and suddenly I got a BSOD. After a reboot my aurora database seams broken, I get endless error popups after any action. Is there any way to restore my game? maybe there is some hidden backup a few increments ago? or any tool to fix the database?

no there's no backups, unless you make one.

fixing a database would have to be done manually by editing it. :|

Any advice on how can I implement backups? maybe some sourcecontrol solution with autocommit?

Just copy Stevefire.mdb into another directory.
Personally, I re-name the file to Stevefire.mdb.Jan-2053, for example

As for automatism, your´re in luck. Erik has put together a launcher/backup utility. You can find it here:

There's also an FAQ on this topic (written before the launcher existed).
