I just suffered a crew quarters failure on my PDC(due to overcrowding of life support). How do I fix it? Also I noticed my PDC has 20% morale. Does that matter, and if so how do I fix it?

Are these the default missile bases that come with a conventional empire start?
If so, those are bugged. Use SM mode to remove and recreate them.
-
No, I didn't do a conventional start, it's just a practice PDC I whipped up to figure out mechanics and dump outdated fighters.
10 hangar decks
2 barracks
1 fuel storage
1 bridge
1 flag bridge(opens up a related question, do you need a flag bridge for your Earth based fleet, and if so does putting it on a PDC count?)

Ok, now the thing had a catastrophic life support failure putting it in negative crew and causing a game stopping error. Seems odd that a PDC would even need life support, especially on Earth.
-
Can anyone help me design a PDC that won't fail?
-
I think I've figured out why but could someone tell me if I'm wrong. Maybe putting the TF command staff in there was what overwhelmed the crew capacity?
-
Maybe it was the fighter pilots. With any kind of carrier you need to check "keep excess Q" and add quarters for flight crew berths.
-
Yep, didn't check that one, hence the life support failure.

While I agree that it is odd to have life support failure in a PDC on a habitable planet kill your crew, I roleplay the space needed for it as ready rooms, integrated barracks and that kind of stuff. You don“t want your crew/pilots to stay on their station/sit in their cockpit 24/7.
Look at some of the larger pre-WW2 forts (Eben Emael, for example) which were basicly small, underground cities with backeries and stuff. This is what I imagine lifesupport in PDCs to be.
