So this may have been answered before, but I'm trying to transport some low-tech divisions to Mars to quell some unrest (I started with a conventional start) and I though a division was the equivilent of 5 battalions. My transport task group says that the TG has a total carrying capacity of 9 bats but it still won't let me load. My large hauler (that I use for installations) has 25000 carry capacity and is included in this task group. What am I doing wrong? Do units not 'split' throughout a task group, ala War In The Pacific?

A brigade is the equivalent of five battalions (the Brigade HQ and four other battalions). A division is the equivalent of up to four battalions plus the brigade HQ (i.e. 21 battalions).
Note that a Construction Battalion is actually the size of five battalions. You can still put four of them under a Brigade HQ to make a brigade, but they take up much more space on a transport.

If you look on the ground unit build tab (F2 screen) there is a column that lists the size of each unit. A low tech unit has a size of 50. A battalion has a size of 5, company size 1, and engineer units are size 25. To fit a low tech unit on a transport will require 10 troop compartments. They all need to be on the same ship as the computer will not divide a integral unit between ships. You can also run into this problem loading a formed brigade or division into a task group. Sometimes I found that I needed to load each ship individually and then group then into the task force to allow all the units to be loaded quickly.
