Title: Fiddling with the .mdb file
Post by: Nibelung44 on September 25, 2013, 10:47:33 AM
Hi,

Has someone tried to open the .mdb file? That's MS Access right? Is it password protected?

I would like to clear out the history of some of my leaders, so they are more readable.

Yes, Yes, Yes.

If you break something with a modified database, Steve is less likely to look into the issue as the issue may be caused by database edits.

send Steve a pm and ask.  He may or may not want to give it out.  He does want to keep the password restricted as this is one very complicated database that is very easy to mess up.

Don't take this the wrong way as for obvious reasons Steve doesn't want people messing around in the DB.  It is very easy to break something.

If you are smart enough to edit tables correctly (especially with relational links) then you are smart enough to figure out how to get around the password.

The same is true for the designer password.  If you can figure it out on your own, you are not likely going to make accidental errors and then report them as a bug.
