Title: Does Shipyard Repair action use stockpiled components?

Does Shipyard Repair action use stockpiled components to speed up repair time?  If not, there is no reason to keep old components on hand, is there?

I have some frigs that are useful as pickets, but are too expensive to refit to modern equipment.  Salvaging wrecks has given me a nice stockpile of components that could be used to repair them, if it works that way.

I'm almost certain that it does not and that components are only used when building/refitting a ship not when repairing.
