How exactly does task force training work?

I have a group of warships undergoing task force training right now but they are not getting any task force training experience.

You need to have officers assigned to the task force and the ships.

Go to F4 and click auto assign in the upper left, then assign officers to staff positions, and advance 5days or so, and it should start to slowly accumulate

I turned on auto assign officers a long time ago. Every ship has a commanding officer and the current senior officer is Commodore Samantha Rowe on Illustrious 003. Grade Bonus is going up.

Did you assign staff officers, too? You have to designate the head of the head of them manually, then the rest of the positions will be filled by the auto assignment.
