Title: Ways to Pan around the map?

Beside the GUI elements and the numpad.  Is there any other options to pan around the map, or a way to re-map those keys? Also noticed that the mouse wheel seem to mirror RMB functions.   Is there any reason why it can't be used to offer zoom in/out and pan options?

You can recenter the map by clicking on a body or task group.
In several other windows you can do the same, I think the task groups window has a button for it, also the events window will recenter the map for most events when you click them.
