Okay for awhile there I kept wondering where the time was going. I take it the board doesn't account for daylight savings time. If it's easy to implement would be nice to have. If not I'll grumble on for the next two weeks until it doesn't matter until April again.

Far as I know, it's not kicked in yet?

Europe tends to be beginning of October and North America tends to be end of October, and Australia is just weird.

no I mean we are currently in day light savings and it isn't showing that. EST = -5 GMT which is what I have my profile set to. It's now 6:24 PM but it's going to read 5:24 when I post it. I guess I could just ignore it but I always seem to look at it and say wait a sec.

or to put it better, for you Erik it would be -6 GMT. If ya have it set to -5 GMT Illinois suddenly got moved a bit East. heheheh gawd I'm anal retentive.

Or y'all can come here to Arizona, where we don't do silly things like Daylight Savings Time. Saves were and tear on the clocks as well as the people.

Tell that to the people living in the Navaho reservation in your state

Australia is weird how?
I mean, aside from the fact that only some states have daylight savings, and that each state impliments it on a different date, there is nothing else weird ( ) about it, is there????

phpBB doesn't implement client-based daylight savings, because it's used globally, and daylight savings is HARD to implement correctly. That's because some places do daylight savings, some don't. Some go forward from the standard time, others go back during a different part of the year. Some change by and hour, others change by only a half hour.
Now, the time is based off the server time, so if the server is set to use daylight savings locally, then the official forum time will be based on that.
But, the last news I saw, was that phpBB wouldn't be implementing a client setting for daylight savings.

Like I said I'll just moan and groan for another two weeks then I'm good till April or I guess I could just switch it to GMT -4 ehhhh.... sooo... lazy

It's set to GMT-6... So unless the server is in the Eastern time zone...

*shruggs* oh well guess it's just one of those wierd computer quirks. It gave me a good excuse to post alot of small posts and up my rating anyways.
