Sorry for the basic question, I browsed a page of search results on 'tractor' for nothing.
Can I do a chain of tugs with the last one tracting my large mining platform? Or only one tug per platform to tract? If that's the former, I'll probably build small tugs, as several can help (more versatile). If the later, I'll build much bigger ones, as only one can tractor a large mining platform.

The use of multiple tractor links is currently bugged/broken. Only the first link is considered.
Depending on the link order/configuration the use of multiple tractor links results in completely ineffective tugs and/or massless payloads.
For balanced play with expected results plan on using just one tug per platform.
