Not the most important of suggestions, but would it be possible to start with more than one race in an Empire when creating one?

Suggestion, ctrl clicking and shift clicking added to some interfaces.

Explanation. If managing say files in windows, or an excel sheet, or any of dozens of other interfaces where a person might want to select a group of things quickly, most softwares use a system where, clicking somethign at the top of the list, and shift+clicking something towards the bottom, highlights the group, and then you can drag adn drop, or delete, or whatever.
Similarly CTRL+Clicking several items in a list will allow you to select those ones, and move them all at once as well.

I feel that this would be a handy addition in a few management windows. Specifically the Fleet Management interface, where moving large numbers of units around between fleets can be a bit tedious, as well as assigning missiles to launchers, assigning weapons to FCs if you need to juggle for whatever reason

You can already ctrl or shift click in the ship list for fleets, then detach and drag. The Treeview is a Microsoft control and doesn't support multi-select.

For weapons or missiles in the combat view, use Assign All, or Assign # to drag multiples.

In the combat rating tab, can We have the possibility to sort by military while keeping our ships sorted by size? I want have on top the bigger ships and as last the smaller one with respective tonnage sunk; currently it sort by tonnage destroyed, but then your ships are not in order and it is kind of a mess.

In my opinion the main info should be "how many tonnage destroyed that particular ship?" and not which ship destroyed more.

Steve, remember the Mystery Trader from Stars!?

Wouldn't that be awesome in Aurora?
Something like a reverse-Raiders NPR that shows up and trades mystery boxes for your extra Tritanium.

Request:

On the Commanders window, viewing Naval Officers, with any ship type selected in assignment dropdown, and with the "Available Only" box ticked:
In this case, remove from the possible assignment list any ship design for which the "No Officers" box has been ticked.

Reasoning:
If the No Officers box is ticked, obviously I do no intend to assign officers to such ships.
Furthermore, there are likely to be a large number of such ships (which is a primary reason for ticking the No Officers box).
So these ships clutter the list, making it hard to find the ships to which I'm actually interested in assigning an officer.

SJW: Added for v2.6

Would it be possible to re-add the option to start in a non-sol system during race creation? Currently, making a non-sol race means that NPRs are scaled to the original race, and in Known Stars are calculated distance wise from that race and not the non-sol one which isn't ideal.

Couple more silly ones. But

"Gamma S20 / R400 Shields (1)     Recharge Time 400 seconds (0.1 per second)"
is a readout of a shield generator in a ship design. Would it be possible to get an extra decimal place in the "Per Second" bit, as in earlier techs, it's not uncommon for that 0.1 to include a good bit of rounding.

You can already ctrl or shift click in the ship list for fleets, then detach and drag. The Treeview is a Microsoft control and doesn't support multi-select.

For weapons or missiles in the combat view, use Assign All, or Assign # to drag multiples.

Aah, I didn't realize that the ship list on the right was interactable in that way. Thank you.

What about a change to the Allow Human NPCs option so instead of the 1/3 chance it would be a variable that the player can edit similar to research speed.

That way the player can decide weather the NPCs they meet are all 100% human or 50/50 human/alien, ETC.

The main reason would be to provide a way to do a 30K Great Crusade style conquest of the Galaxy. Where human world are a lot more common then alien ones.

Doing some database digging, it seems that the black hole generation logic added for v2.0.0 is unchanged, with 80 black holes added for Real Stars games. But the list of real stars in the database is about 15x bigger than it was at that time. Could you maybe generate 500-1000 black holes instead of 80, to keep a similar ratio to what it was before, and a similar ratio to Random Stars?

(As a benchmark, 968 black holes among 63543 real stars would give you a 1.5% chance.)

I remember of reading this already: in the System Map, please, the possibility to hide the civilian fleets.
In a crowded system, when zooming out, their markers hide all the rest (also hiding much of the information in the fleet label: see image).

This already exists. Uncheck civilians in the display tab of your system view framebox (the big box on the left side that's strangely easy to forget about).

Thank you, Jovus!
But, I did a mistake! I should have written: "the possibility to hide the name/the information of the civilian fleets".
I'm OK with the dots of the fleets.
But the long strings and too many of them clutter the screen.

I'm excited about the BFC granularity changes, but those huge dropdown menus look really difficult or tedious to deal with on the regular. Could we instead have an interface in BFC project creation where we're able to enter desired tracking speed and range by hand and the game automatically calculates BFC size based on those parameters while disallowing TS/range outside the accepted min/max envelope? We already have something similar for turrets, and that makes turret creation much, much easier than if we had to use a dropdown for TS.

Econ window, list of colonies in left-side pane.

With the "By Function" box ticked, the colonies are grouped by function, then by system.
Within each group, the systems have different orderings.

Here are a few groupings where the system ordering works great:

Populated Systems: by total pop.
Automated Mining Colonies: by total number of automines/orbital mining modules.
Civilian Mining Colonies: by total number of CMC.

Here is one I think should change:
Listening Posts: by total number of DSTs, then (apparently) by creation date of oldest listening post colony in the system.

Could we change that to just alphabetical order?
I tend to put a single DST on one body in any system I would otherwise leave uncolonized.
As the list grows, it becomes a chore to find any particular colony.

In the Naval Organization window, Shipping Line tab, the events list in the right most section: when scrolling the list, the first row (the names of the columns) moves too.
Is it possible to 1) keep it blocked, 2) add the column header/name "Quantity"?
And I would also like a different order of the columns, i.e.: Date, Ship, Trade Good, Quantity, Origin, Destination; but this is just my personal taste.
Thanks!
