I'm getting lots of division by zero errors in fields. Do I need to fill something before the sheet works? I've followed your main posts instructions on what to fill in what order so far.
F9 does nothing. Is there no info/feedback on that? Do I need to enable/register macros? Am I right that a dialog should pop up and give me values to copy/paste?

Tried in LibreOffice 7 and 25.

That's a bit weird, I am out atm so cannot double check, I will do it later and see if somehow the file got corrupted.

Any other having same issue please let me know.

EDIT: Try to populate with 0 (Zero) the Leader's Point/Funds

EDIT: Try to populate with 0 (Zero) the Leader's Point/Funds

That had no effect.

Could it be different windows locale/date formats or windows system page? I've got mine set to Japanese because the indie devs there seem permanently stuck 20 years behind in technology...

Edit: I've checked the previous version, the file you have on download there does not cause this behavior with me. So it has to be something that changed in the new iteration.

I have used a prepopulated version and it seems like everything works fine now.

I have uploaded the new file on the main post.

Thanks, the prepopulated file displays and works fine, and elections run with F9.

Now to go and model the intricate federal democracy of the Interstellar League...

Overly complicated dozen-power AAR that breaks the game in increasingly improbable ways when?  ;D

Got a minor bug. My election results have 311 seats, but claims a majority is 155. I think it's rounding down here, when it should be rounding up.

Turned out alright anyway, since my majority is 159 seats.

File included, just in case it helps. Yes, my government was dissolved for this election.

thanks Sarah. The file attached is empty, can you please modify your message and re upload?

I think I know why that happened, but I would like to double check it.

Ahh crap. How'd that happen? LOL

Unfortunately, since I know a few things about spreadsheets, I've made a few modifications to mine now. Before I did so, I made a copy of your original. I'll just fire it up and get some sample values in there for you.

Et voila...

I have double checked to make sure the file is *actually* in there this time.

You may have to hit F9 a few times for the error to trigger. You can see a copy/paste of data that failed in the usual row you want us to paste to.

Also, I'm pretty sure the issue is that all of these entries need to be ROUNDUP not ROUNDDOWN

Yes, you are correct and currently it's WAI.

The rationale is to avoid extra seats to be assigned as I had instances where of the 311 seats you may ended up with 314. In all my tests the ROUNDDOWN always created less discrepancies than the ROUNDUP with results similar to yours usually happens only when a high spoil amount of votes are present.

In your case, If you scroll down to the Majority of the House section in the Government Federation calculation, you will see that the Majority has a ROUNDDOWN formula, effectively correcting the "missing" seats. Other governments have instead a ROUNDUP majority, based on the rest of the formulas.

You can change to a ROUNDUP formula for your own sheet, and if so you may end up with elected seats being higher than the maximum amount of seats, which is not a biggie. However, I would recommend though that you also change the Majority of the House formula to the ROUNDUP version and amend for the extra not accounted seats.

As all calculations happen at the Government Federation sheet level, the Majority number in the ELECT page can be considered only a "Visual" bug and since that entry is manual, you can enter the effective right number without compromising anything.

EDIT: Please remember to copy only GREEN elections in there, as I have a feeling you copied a RED one in the file.

It's possible. I was just hitting F9 until the specific situation arose. In my actual gameplay, I've only copied when it was a valid election.

Weird that the majority system causes there to be more seats. Anyway, good that it's WAI. :)
