Did the font for the forums just change or have I somehow inadvertently changed my broswer settings?

No font change that I can see; I suspect you have changed your browser settings.

It turns out I have zoomed in by pressing Ctrl+

. Normal service now resumed.

Have you changed the site font size using the Font size button in the top right hand corner (below advanced search)?
