Spaceports: JUST loading time?
« on: April 08, 2011, 12:29:38 AM »
I started putting up a spaceport, but they don't appear to have any impact on a colony except for cargo loading time.  Is this really all there is to it, and if so, does anyone bother?

They're just loading time I believe. I find them worthwhile if it's a particularly high-traffic planet.
I still don't know what the hell I'm doing.

It can be cheaper to build spaceports than cargo handling system if you have many ships.

They just affect loading time but that is very useful, especially with regard to the round trip time for relatively short journeys. For example, if the spaceport takes 1 day off a 10 day trip it is the same as increasing the number of available colony ships and freighters by 10%. For even shorter trips, such as colonising Mars it has even more of an impact, including on revenue from civilian shipping lines.
