Task Force and survey ships
« on: August 07, 2011, 05:52:57 AM »
I was wondering, is it of any interest to organize your survey (grav and geo) ships in a Task Force ?
Will the commander and survey officer give (survey) bonuses to the individual ships ?

My understanding is "In principle, yes (as long as they're in the same system, on a colony or Flag Bridge)."  In practice, I've never found it to be worth it - the logistics overhead of arranging for the commands staff to be in the system is too large.  Since I'm usually only surveying with at most 3-4 WS, the commander would have to have a pretty big honking bonus (e.g. 40%-ish) to make it worth it.
