Since a majority of the respondents are okay with a subscription, I am putting it in place. I'll post again with details and such.

If you decide for subscription, I would personaly go for yearly type.

I mean, I would, but in a country where three dollars basically keep me fed and in possesion of hygiene implements for three days I cannot spare even silver. That has been a big roadblock in supporting about 3 projects. Sadly, voted no.

P.D: The leftovers would need to go to that charity mentioned around June, since Steve does not want donations (right?).

If I do implement a subscription, those that do not get a subscription will still have the same access they have today. Nothing will change for them at all.

While these ideas are nice, the fact is steve has said multiple times in the past and he would probably agree he doesnt really take donations because hes more than well off, so if you really want to support the community and aurora support erik running the forum as thats what actually needs money here.

The thing is: do I use the forum on a daily basis for either find info on Aurora, suggestions, personal enjoyment, and resources? Do I appreciate Steve taking his time to participate, answer, and support all questions or ideas I have on this forum?

I spend more monthly on Netflix and Disney plus combined and I am sure I use them less than I use the forum. If some money somehow are going to Steve even better, but I know I can always donate to Steve directly if I really want.

My Aurora life without the forum would not be the same or I may probably not even play Aurora without the forum, so to be honest it is really an easy call.

Ask for money is never easy and it puts you always in a very difficult spot so Erik you have my deepest respect mate.

I will be happy with a subscriber badge but to be honest I don't need nor want "extras". I think I am already receiving an amazing service and I am sure I can give up either 1 coffee per month. Actually I may stay home this Friday playing Aurora and send you the 30 bucks I would have spent down at the pub instead.

I would, and I like the idea of the extra going to Steve,. I don't WANT to pay for things at all, but it's a cost I can certainly swallow if it means the forums, game, and community get to continue normally.

- Other: I'm broke, but even if I wasn't I don't do subscription models. I'd rather cut ya check whenever I have the cash to spare. :)

I can relate :) Donations at anytime are always welcome too.

I don’t have a lot of extra money to spend but willing to spend a little on a subscription.  Would there be any extra benefits (besides helping Steve) in the different levels?

That is one reason I've not implemented any subscription prior. I cannot come up with anything (other than "I'm a supporter!") for a benefit. :(

I'm supporting a bunch of Y-Tubers (well, BitChuters more like it), so why not.

But I don't do Patreon (anymore). If you get a Subscribestar account, I'd be game though.

Answers should be self-explanatory. If you select "Other", explain in a comment :)

As for subscriptions, I am thinking yearly ($10, $20, $30) for Bronze, Silver, Gold. Or monthly ($1, $2, $3) for the same levels. Any left over after the hosting fee would go to Steve. I'd most likely include a special ribbon that shows under your name on posts and such as well as a special group.

As for Patreon, I'm looking at that too, with the same levels and caveat. Anything after goes to Steve. Though it seems to be more for content than a subscription type thing.

As for numbers, 39 gold yearly subs would cover the costs with a bit to Steve. Or 32 monthly gold subs would do the same. Of course, any one-off donations would still be accepted.
