In a little more than 20 years, the humanity, thanks to Trans-Newtonian Materials, make a big technological jump towards the future.
The space exploration, started in 2031 with the launch of the Science Vessel Prometheus, lead the humanity towards the colonization of Mars and Titan, the estabilishment of mining colonies on Mercury, Venus, Io, Callisto, Nereid and Charon and the discovery of the jump points, that allow for travel to near star systems.
Later on the discovered Alpha Centauri system, the humanity find the first alien race, the Centaurians, a race of humanoid reptiles that are settled in a pre-industrial state.

POLITICAL SITUATIONThe Earth Nations in 2047 are melt in the United Nation Federation, an organization, lead by a chancellor, that during these years starts acting as a single state in the mankind interest. Every colonized planet is lead by a local governor that reports to the chancellor, also know as the Sol System Administrator.
Earth: The heart of the federation, it counts nearly 7 billion peoples and is the seat of the federation power, located on the artificial island of Pax Astra in the Atlantic Ocean.
Mars: With a population of 12 millions colonist, it's the first planet colonized outside Earth. It's a planet that recently become problematic due to a separatist movement started with the discovery of the Centaurians that ended with the intervention of the federal forces in 2044. But the assassination of the Starfleet Commander Brandon Cross by a Mars colonist reopened the situation. Mars is going in a terraforming process.
Titan: Titan was colonized in 2040 and its current population counts 3 million citizen. Like Mars, terraforming installation working on the planet to ensure better athmospheric conditions.
The current chancellor of the Federation is Jewell Wichern, elected in 2039.
THE FEDERAL ARMED FORCESThe armed forces are subdivided in three branches:
Federal Army - Composed by three Mobile Infantry Brigades, two stationed on Earth and one on Mars and each composed on three battalions, only see action during the Mars revolt of 2043-2044. It's commander is Major-General Oliver Wilkins, promoted in 2035.
Federal Engineer Corps - Founded in 2046 and composed by a so-called "Tech Group" of two engineering brigades, its main duty is to deal with emergency constructions and retrieval of ruins and artifacts from alien planets. Its commander is Major-General Ashley Baldwin
Federal Marines - Founded in 2044 and commanded by Major-General Elliot Nolan, is an extremely mobile special assault corps that was assemble for future space engagements. It never sees action, at the dawn of 2048.
THE NAVAL ORGANIZATIONSince the launche of the Promotheus to the death of Commander Cross, the naval organization of Federal starship see much changes, that lead to the latest reorganization that separates the future warfleets from civilian and utility fleets, along the creation of the cadre for the marine corps own fleets:
Federal Starfleet - The main "civilian" body of the Federal Fleet, its commander is the recent elected Admiral is Clinton Pitz and it's subdivided in Colonization Department (FCD), Engineering Department (FED) that is lined to the Federal Engineer Corps, the Logistic Department (FLD), the Scientific Department (FSD) and the Utility Department (FUD).
The Starfleet main purpose is the transport of personnel, minerals and infrastructure throught planets of the federation, as long as the exploration and the survey of the galaxy. Starfleet's ships also builds the Jump Gates of jump points, that allow transmissions and travel through systems. Without jump gates, only ships with jump engines are able to cross jump points, and, beyond them, no radio contacts are possible.
Federal Navy - The newborn military fleet of the Federation, at the dawn of the space militarization it is only composed by support fleets with tankers, and trasport fleets with troop transport ships. It's commanded by Admiral Leon Yates.
Federal Marine Fleet - Only a cadre at the moment, it's commanded by Commodore Tom Constante.
NOTABLE FIGURES OF THE FEDERATIONLauren Glover: The first Chancellor of the Federation, she was at the head from 2025 to 2039. She then take the charge of governor of the Earth.
Kai Anderson: The scientist that discovers the Trans-Newtonian minerals, awarded with the Science Nobel, she also theorized and demonstrates the existence of the Jump Points.
Victoria Hughes: The leading scientist of the team that developed the first Trans-Newtonian engines.
Sophia Blake: A navy commander and geologist that measures the quantity of Trans-Newtonian minerals beneath Earth surface. She also was the commander of the starship Prometheus that geosurveyed the Sol System planets for eight years. She was awarded with the Sol Medal. Currently she was measuring the TN minerals quantity under every planet of the federation.
Brandon Cross: The first commander of the Starfleet. Elected in 2031, was killed in 2047 by a Martian separatist.
Jewell Wichern: Elected in 2039, is the current Chancellor of the Federation.
Peggy Zhang: The commander of the UNF Perseus, the vessel that first cross the Alpha Centauri Jump Point, she received the Sol Medal.
Casey Studer: A federal Lieutenant Commander that estabilished communications with the centaurians in 2040, currently working on their homeworld like an ambassador.
