Orbital Mining?

Hello, so i wantet to test out the orbital mining station, usually i have just made a colony or auto mines, but i am not sure how it works.

I made this:

Orbital Miner: 10 modules producing 100 tons per mineral per annum


This design is classed as a Commercial Vessel for maintenance purposes
This design is classed as a Space Station for construction purposes

But when i check the mining screen nothing happens.

What am i doing wrong?

Do you have a colony on that planet? You need one where the minerals are stored (so the storage space is not needed on that mining ship). Also you need to check if the planet is legit for orbital mining. You can see that on the colony overview screen.

Thanks for answer, yes it is a colony, the planet is not legit for orbital mining, so i guess that is the problem Thanks for help!

You can research larger body diameters so you can mine them also.
