Regarding the gas giants: They shouldn't have an OI/MI as they are not habitable.
For the layout, I usually use tables. The data is much more condensed.

This system is Icrarth, and is the home system of my main race. A couple of things to talk about is 1, I have the facilities of a couple planets from this race. 2, All of the OI numbers are based on a race with standard gravity, standard atmosphere, and breaths nitrogen, if you calculate it from the planet itself the OI would be higher and in some cases it would result in more life. 3, Since this was the home system of my main race I ignored rolling for populations, there are a few moons on the gas giant that would have populations if you used the entire rule set.

I am working on a new Astra Imperia game and I decided that as I complete star systems I am going to post them here for people to drop in to their own games whenever they would like. I've got one system almost complete, just a few more moons on the system's gas giant and when I finish it either today or tomorrow I will post it here. Something to keep in mind, especially with Erik recently changing some stuff with System Creation (Chapter 32) in recent versions, I am using v. 21 at the moment.

Completed ResearchMaster_Insert.sql data entry.
Added ShipComponents table.

Reordered Advantages/Disadvantages to align with book order.
Added missing Decreased Growth -5% disadvantage.
Renamed certain advantages/disadvantages to reflect name changes in the book.

Added starting technology form called from New Game window.

Added Starting Technology option on New Game window.
Added drop list for technology starts (normal 5k, low 3k, high 7k)
Fixed a bug that could cause a CTD when clicking whitespace in the log viewer.

Import ComponentMaster to Player Components on game creation. (AI_Aide)

Bugs:
On a new game creating a new system, the last stellar component overwrites the rest.

I've been rewriting database code. So... yeah. That's a blast :)

I know there hasn't been an update on this in over six months, but any progress or work on this since the last update Erik? I think creating moons for gas giants will be the death of me doing it by hand.

Does anyone recall why the bonuses to attack and defense under troop tech is limited explicitly to +1/+2 for the tech levels?

I know there was a reason, I just cannot recall. It's not in the changelogs, and a quick search here didn't enlighten me.
