---This is a necromancy of threads I made in the past containing ships that I always envisioned as Anti-Pirate or as being good in the Anti-Pirate role. These have greater uses now that the new Raiders have been added, so I'm making a post to link them for those who might be looking for something to help them design a ship to fight back.

  -  A Magneto-Plasma tech "Heavy Corvette", very utilitarian yet poorly armed for its size. Useful for training up talented, but low-ranked officers.

 - Project Starshield & Project Starlance-Class: http://aurora2.pentarch.org/index.php?topic=10971.msg126374#msg126374
  -  Early tech, these are super barebones, but they'll wreck shop and are cheap. Room to alter and grow them to suit your needs, for sure. :)

  -  Not dissimilar to the ones just above, these gunboats use a team system whereby one kites the enemy while the other gets up in its face to keep it off the kiting ship's back. Alternatively, if you don't have enough of a speed advantage to keep the range and kite, the "tackle" can simply hang around the kiting ship to discourage closing and enable it to out damage the enemy if at all possible. Very research heavy if you want to keep them up to date.
