I just thought I would share some designs I have to get second opinions on them.

This design is classed as a Fighter for production, combat and planetary interaction

Not perfectly optimized with the sensors as they are ones I already had (along with the engines) but the missile and box launcher are new tech. Meant to be deployed from a Carrier to hunt down enemy ships that outspeed my beam ships (roughly 4400km/s) after initial engagement. I still need to figure out a good way to handle STO's but currently the fleet strategy has been to rush the enemy planet and blast them with lasers which usually leads to enemy combat ships moving away from their planet to outrange my ships after they realize I outgun them in close range while their planetary STO's fire on me. I can then chase them away from their planet but they still outspeed me by a bit (they got like 5000km/s roughly) so I need something to get them. Do you think these fighters will be able to help me chase down ships?

Maybe the missile could be worked on, seems kinda slow maybe it will be too easy to shoot down.

I love that hugeass missile you've got there. Reminds me of WW2 torpedo bombers. Couldn't comment on its design at the moment. By VB6 standards I think its a good speed.

Personally, it seems a bit slow for a plasma era fighter and I'd like to have about 1 to 2 billion km in range. 0.3 sounds like a lot but, in reality, that means bringing your carrier really close to the enemy (under 0.15 billion km, since you need to get there, chase, and then get back).

There's also no need for maintenance or engineering on a strike fighter, nor any reason to have more than a weeks worth of deployment (enter 0.23 into the deployment box). I guess if you're planning to leave them on a jump point or something.
